To sit the 90 minute, multiple choice, multi-part, scenario based Lifecycle Stream examinations, delegates must have attended accredited training and hold the ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management or the V2 to V3 Foundation Bridge equivalent.  To pass the examination, delegates must achieve 65% (75% is a distinction).  To sit the 90 minute, multiple choice, multi-part, scenario based Capability Stream examinations, delegates must have attended accredited training and hold the ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management or the V2 to V3 Foundation Bridge equivalent.  Again the pass score is 65% with candidates achieving distinction at 75%.  

 

ITIL v3 Diploma Certification.  Finally,  Managing Across the Lifecycle accredited training and a 90 minute, multiple choice examination in which delegates must achieve 65% finishes off the examinations and, the accumulated points (22 required) the candidate will have earned will enable them to achieve the ITIL v3 Diploma.

 

ITIL v3 Advanced Diploma.  Still under development.

 

NOTE:

ITIL v2 to ITIL v3 Service Managers Bridge.  For already ITIL v2 fully qualified Service Managers, the jump to the ITIL v3 Diploma is achieved by attending accredited training and passing a 1 hour multiple-choice, scenario based examination. The pass mark is 80%.

ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management.  This is aimed at those wishing to demonstrate that they have gained knowledge of ITIL v3 terminology, structure and basic concepts and, have understood the core principles of ITIL v3 practices for Service Management.  The examination comprises a 40 question, multiple choice examination which must be completed within 1 hour.  Successful delegates must achieve 65% correctly answered questions to pass.

ITIL v3 Intermediate Certification in IT Service Management (Lifecycle Stream and Capability Stream).  Two streams are available at this level.  Each ITIL Service Lifecycle Stream Module is a free-standing qualification, and comprises one of the six modules that lead to the full ITIL v3 Diploma.  One stream of study and examination focuses on the Service Lifecycle (Strategy, Design, Transition, Operation, Continual Service Improvement).  The other stream – the Capability stream – is available in ‘clusters’; Planning, Protection and Optimization, Service Offerings and Agreements, Release, Control and Validation, Operational Support and Analysis.
